Civilization Science is an emerging interdisciplinary research program that studies civilization as a complex adaptive system shaped by cooperation, trust, effective energy, entropy, institutions, technology, meaning, and long-term continuity.
The program asks whether consequential claims about civilizational stability, development, fragility, and continuity can be made explicit, measured, modeled, tested, compared, and revised. It combines systems thinking with traceable evidence while keeping empirical description separate from ethical and institutional proposals.
It is not a claim that civilization has already been reduced to a complete theory. It is an organized attempt to build a cumulative field whose hypotheses can fail, improve, or be replaced.
Humanity has powerful disciplines for particular dimensions of collective life, yet many of the largest risks emerge through interactions among dimensions rather than within one of them.

The program emerged from a practical gap: civilization-scale problems are often described in separate institutional and disciplinary languages even when their causes and consequences are tightly coupled. Global interdependence, cascading risk, ecological pressure, information disorder, and increasingly autonomous AI systems make that fragmentation more costly.
The initial framework therefore organizes a shared question architecture around civilizational stability, measurement, early warning, life continuity, human–agent coordination, meaning, and contribution. The equation S = (C × Lₑ × Eₙ) / E is published as a working model—not as established law.
To develop an open, cumulative, and falsifiable research program for understanding, measuring, and responsibly improving the conditions that support civilizational stability, resilience, dignity, and long-term flourishing.
