Equations

Formal expressions are hypotheses with declared domains, links, and failure conditions—not laws by notation alone.

01

Conceptual relation

S = (C × Lₑ × Eₙ) / E

A structural hypothesis about complementarity and disorder pressure; not directly estimated without operationalization.

02

Regularized raw index

S̃ᵢ,ₜ = [Cᵢ,ₜ^α · Lₑᵢ,ₜ^β · Eₙᵢ,ₜ^γ] / (Eᵢ,ₜ + ε)^δ

Positive inputs; ε and exponents are declared or estimated; S̃ remains unbounded.

03

Bounded score

Sᵢ,ₜ = σ(a + b ln S̃ᵢ,ₜ), 0 < Sᵢ,ₜ < 1

The logistic, probit, or another declared monotone link maps the raw index to bounded stability.

04

Logit-linear estimation

logit(Sᵢ,ₜ) = a + α ln Cᵢ,ₜ + β ln Lₑᵢ,ₜ + γ ln Eₙᵢ,ₜ − δ ln(Eᵢ,ₜ + ε) + uᵢ,ₜ

Coefficients are conditional effects on a latent scale, not universal constants.

05

Component dynamics

xₜ₊₁ = F(xₜ, zₜ, aₜ, ηₜ), xₜ = [Cₜ, Lₑₜ, Eₙₜ, Eₜ]ᵀ

The transition law is estimated separately from the measurement function Sₜ = G(xₜ).

06

Derivative-consistent dynamics

dS/dt = S(1 − S)[α Ċ/C + β L̇ₑ/Lₑ + γ Ėₙ/Eₙ − δ Ė/(E + ε)]

This follows by the chain rule from the bounded measurement map; component derivatives still require transition models.

07

Discrete transition hypothesis

Sₜ₊₁ = σ[logit(Sₜ) + αCₜLₑₜEₙₜ − βEₜ − ρRₜ + κAₜ]

An independent falsifiable model; it is not the derivative of the static ratio.

08

Validity conditions

01

Domain declaration

Specify population, scale, period, positivity, transformations, ε, link, priors, and excluded cases.

02

Identifiability

Do not estimate more free structure than the observations can identify; regularize and compare reduced models.

03

Causal restraint

Predictive fit does not establish that changing C, Lₑ, Eₙ, or E will causally change S.

04

No physical equivalence

E is an operational entropy-pressure construct and Eₙ is usable capacity; neither is automatically a thermodynamic quantity.

05

Decision rule

Reject or narrow the canonical form if it lacks reproducible incremental value against simpler baselines.
